Shoe-ducks
Earlier this year, year 8 students explored surrealism and learned how to make collograph prints and incorporate them in a surrealist composition:
Experimental photography in IB
At the beginning of year 12 we explore experimental photography. Students use our tiny darkroom to produce pin-hole photographs and cyanotypes. They learn how to develop and print their photos. Combined with traditional techniques, students are encouraged to mix new technology with old techniques. In result, we have had a great combination of skills involved in making some of the pieces I present below:

Life drawing in the evenings
For years we have been offering life drawing sessions after school. We do this mainly to provide year 12 students with the opportunity to develop great drawing skills and to add to their portfolio an essential practice in art training. The sessions are also open to staff under appointment and occasionally we extend them to the most mature and dedicated year 11 students. Bellow are a few examples (quite outstanding!) drawn by two of our current year 11 students. You can see these live in the upcoming exhibition.

Return from the Ashes
Dear All, It's been a very long time since my last post. Four years have past and the Art department has been through so much. Now it is time to come back and let you know what we have been up to.
It is hard to know where to start but I think the best is to show you the video of our great year 13 finalists talking about the work they presented in their final exhibition.
This video is a compilation of sections of edited interviews that integrated the external assessment material for IB Visual Arts.
